Finally…from February 2017, EasyJet will be operating three return flights a week between London Gatwick and Granada-Jaen! The new service was announced today by the President of Granada provincial council, José Entrena (as reported in Ideal.es).
This is great news for tourism and the economy of the Granada Province which has been isolated in the lack of direct international flights.
Ever since Ryan Air stopped flying between the UK and Granada, and despite the BA flights between London City Airport and Granada, local residents, regular and occasional visitors have been crying out for a Gatwick to Granada connection.
It’s expected that the new EasyJet flights will run on Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from around February 4th 2017.
The Director General of EasyJet Spain, Javier Gándara, said: “We’ve always said that Spain is a key market for Easyjet and are delighted to be able to announce operations from a new airport such as Granada”.
The EasyJet flights will carry approximately 180 passengers in Airbus A320 planes and tickets are expected to go on sale from November 8th at “competitive prices”.

Hi Carole – hasn’t been announced yet. Although we think so. You can book up until the end of March so far I think. I would assume they will carry on with Gatwick route, Manchester might be seasonal but seems to be going through winter at the moment…
